This is a great article. It reaffirms my belief that some children can learn slow, and with right guidance they can ace in what they are good at. Come on, not everyone can excel in academics, but they can excel in some other amazing vocation.

I read the article today and it is very concise. I agree with you Nina, it is not an irreversible concern. With proper guidance and by recognizing a child's true calling, learning can be made a less daunting and tiresome process.

Empathy and Compassion, not only for special needs people, but for every human. Especially starting when our children are young, actually makes them realise that special needs people are no different.

We are all familiar with Climate Strike initiated by Mini-Crusader Greta Thunberg. But did you know that Greta has Autism? Yes, surprised are you? Greta says that being a child with autism has actually been her 'superpower' that allows her to stay focussed on a single cause. Moreover, she is also an inspiration for millions, not only regular children but also children who are in the autism spectrum. Read this beautiful write-up on how Greta's Autism is her Superpower>>>> https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/how-greta-thunberg-s-autism-helps-give-her-a-singular-focus-1.5301634 Image Courtesy- Copyright:CC-BY-4.0:European Union 2019Source: EP

Greta Thunberg is truly an inspiration. It also gives a lot of hope to parents of children with autism that it is not a disability and with right therapy we can help our family as a whole handle the situation better.

Have you heard of a city that is autism-friendly and that makes life more easy and pleasurable for those with autism. Phoenix City, the capital o the American state of Arizona, is one such city.
The innovative work done by groups such as Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC), First Place Arizona, community partners like MC Companies, Autism Speaks and most recently Visit Mesa are all dedicated to ensuring that Arizona is a thriving, supportive and inclusive community for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.

This is a beautiful piece by Julia Stephenson who used autism as an ability to find her passion, instead of treating it as a block in the way of exploring her true calling. Really liked reading this. The author connects to you so well and you can actually feel the struggle that she underwent. Also being diagnosed with autism at an advanced age of 12 is a very difficult truth to accept.

As a community it is necessary to accept the child however they are. We have to be flexible to their family members in helping the child .
They should be allowed to mingle with other children in the community by not showing sympathy , but with love and care. They may be slow in learning , speech or other physical or mental activities. But they should not be treated differently .It is necessary to give moral value education to children in community ...so that they well behave with special child and their family members.
As a community it is necessary to encourage the child..by giving good motivational support.Even special child should be included in community games, fun festivals and all other activities. Imbibing good human values in the community the child has to feel good and happy. This type of environment makes to develop good community .

So beautifully put, Smitha. Special children should be assisted but not treated differently!

All kids with special needs are different and no needs of them are same even when they ve same disabilities ,so accordingly they should nt be made in same line and don't give same need,it ll nt help each off.Help them as per their requirement's
Second every parents worry about their future, so what r option available should be made known to them,
And main thing is acceptance

As a community, we can help to raise special needs children by proper education and right faculty for grooming that child. According to Gurukul era, every child has a right to educate not less than 20 years of their age. That period prepares them to live the pratical living so that they can serve their life purpose.

Sayoni Mondal Jul 26, 2019

How we can help raise special needs children, Its a very important subject, Let's come to know about it, First we should know about them carefully what they want? ,What's their needs?, What they are thinking?, What They are liking?, What they are playing?, We should understand their needs carefully and care them.
First, We should need to talk them about their interests, what they are doing? And what they want to do, We should need to discuss about their problems. We need to solve their problems carefully.
Second, We should know what's in their mind, what they are doing like their studies , playing, their hobbies by this we can understand their interests.
Third, Direct talk to them so that we can understand their problems wht their needs , what they are playing, what they are thinking, what they are doing. We should need to know about them.
It is a very sensitive subject to talk them we can talk them with love and responsibility we should talk to them about their opinion what they are talking.
The different thing is that how we recognize. Their expectations, what they want and what's in their mind. First we should need to know how they can handle their situations. How they mobilized their demands their thinking.
