Idli batter is easily available in shops these days.
Buy an idli stand with moulds the size of a 1 rupee coin.
Divide the batter into 3 parts
Mix green idli chutney in 1 part.
Tomato sauce in 2nd part
The third can remain white.
Make idlis of the tree separate batters. You will have idlis of red, green and white colour.
Mix them in a plate or make.a.colourful.flower using idlis of these 3 colours.
Ypur child is sure to gobble up these miniature, colourful.delights.
Alternately you can make normal sized idlis. Grate some.carrots and dress up one idli as a human face.
The grated carrot can make the hair on the forehead. Use cherries or pista or tomato pieces to make eyes, nose and lips on the idli face.

2-3 teaspoons dalia ( broken wheat)
2-3 teaspoons rice
1 small carrot
1 tomato
2 teaspoon green peas
Mix the dalia and rice and wash thoroughly. Then pressure cook for 8-10 whistles.
In a pan , take 1 teaspoon of ghee or oil. Add cumin seeds. Fry the carrot and grean peas and cover with a lid. Add tomatoes and saute till vegetables are soft. Add salt to taste and a pinch of turmeric powder.
Add the boiled and cooked dalia and rice mixture to the cooked vegetables. Cook with covered lid for few minutes.
You can add more vegetables of your choice eg cauliflower, bottle.gourd small pieces etc.
If the baby prefers upma...then do away with the rice in this recipe and cook in the same.way
Very healthy and nutritious recipe.. and the vegetables make it quite colourful and exciting for.babies.

NUTRITIOUS SOUP
Cut small.pieces of all vegetables that you can think of adding to a soup.
Eg - carrot, tomatoes, pumpkin, bottle gourd.
Cut small pieces of these vegetables and boil them for 4-5 whistles in a cooker. After cooling down, blend these in a mixer grinder. Strain with a strainer.
Add little salt and sugar and a bit of lime juice.
Fill it up in water bottle of a toddler or infants sipper.
They love the sweet and sour , tangy taste of this soup and you succeed in sending down a whole lot of nutrients down their tummy

wash and soak rice for aleast half an hour,drain and measure 135 ml water,add potato, chopped if you prefer,and add pinch of salt.pressure cook it for 4 whistles or you can cook it in a slow cooker.if cooking in an open pan need to add more water and fully cook till the rice and potatoes turn soft.Add carrom seed pow and tumeric .mash the rice and potato to a smooth texture.at the end add butter.you can add more boiled water or rasam to it to get the desired consistency.

Soak the kesar in little coconut milk and keep aside. Now peel and roughly chopp the mango . Dry roast the oats and grined them into fine powder. Now blend the mango with Oats powder, date paste and walnut then add it all to coconut milk. Mix all the ingredients well. Keep in fridge for 1 hour. Garnish with walnut and serve chilled.

Wash apple and sweet potato in running water well. Then peel the skin off from apple and sweet potato with a peeler. Then chop them into equal size small cubes. Steam the chopped apple & sweet potato pieces in a steamer for 10 minutes. You can steam it with Idli steamer plate by adding a cup of water or pressure cook it with a cup of water for two whistles. Once the apple & sweet potato are steamed, it will be soft and transparent. Now blend it with little water to a smooth paste in a blender.Healthy and wholesome apple sweet potato puree are ready to feed.
