Thank you for reaching out to us. Every new mother wishes to return to their pre-pregnancy weight. Since you are a lactating mother, I would suggest that you take it slow in terms of weight loss. Breastfeeding women need additional 500 calories per day than other women.
A gradual weight loss would be a safe and better option for you. Also, before you start following a diet plan on your own, I would highly suggest that you consult a doctor and a nutritionist. They would work together to analyse your health parameters, your dietary pattern and then provide the right diet and exercise plan that will help you achieve your goal.
Here are a few tips that you could follow:
1. Do not skip meals! Eat a balanced diet. Ensure that your meals have foods from all the five food groups.
2. Include a variety of fruits and vegetables.
3. If you are craving for a snack, have a bowl of salad or soup or a handful of mixed nuts.
4. Eat slowly. As it gives you time to feel full.
5. Cut down on fat and sugar. Opt for low-fat dairy products.
6. Do not try crash or fad diets (quick weight loss diets) as they do not provide the important nutrients that are needed for both you and your baby.
7. Moderate physical activity like brisk walking for 20 to 30 minutes is good to start with.
Hope this helps! Please do feel free to post any further queries you may have!

In the elderly, recovering from dengue fever might take some time because of its symptoms like joint and muscle pains. It is important that he gets plenty of rest and consumes a nutritious diet to recover from the illness faster. Here are some dietary tips to help with faster recovery.
Vitamin K: Dengue patients are more likely to have a low platelet count. Foods rich in vitamin K can help regenerate platelets. Some of the good sources of vitamin K include broccoli, turnip greens, spinach, cabbage, pumpkin, soybeans. Broccoli soup would be the best recovery drink.
Vitamin C: This essential micronutrient helps boost the immune system. Some of the good sources of vitamin C include guava, orange, sweet lime and papaya. Make a bowl of fresh fruit salad for a mid-morning snack or even a glass of fresh fruit juice can be consumed.
Fluids: The body needs plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Coconut water, fruit juice, soups can help hydrate the body. Soups made with a variety of vegetables can be a complete meal. If he is having trouble swallowing food, soup is the best option to nourish the body with the required nutrients.
Hope this helps. Wishing your father-in-law a speedy recovery.
