Check out these DIY Christmas gifts that are perfect for the season of giving! These are easy to make, unique, and will show your family and friends how much you love them

It’s the holiday season! As Christmas draws near, you must be busy ticking off things from your Christmas list—putting up the tree, decorating the house, baking cookies, and cakes, preparing your children for the nativity play at school or in your neighborhood, hosting dinner parties, and counting down to Christmas Day. Amid all this, you need to buy gifts for family and friends, and that can be a tiring job that requires a lot of thinking and planning.
To take the load off your shoulders, here are some interesting homemade Christmas gifts that you can make at home along with your kids. Trust us, you won’t think about buying gifts for Christmas parties again.
Cookie Cutter Wreath

This wreath ticks all the boxes—it’s festive, adorable and you can make it in under 10 minutes! Gift this to a friend who loves to deck up their home with unique, elegant décor.
What you need
- star cookie cutters (preferably in different sizes)
- glue
- ribbon
- scissors
- faux pine leaves
How to make
- Lay out the cookie cutters in a circle such that each cookie cutter touches the next one in at least one spot.
- Using glue, stick each cookie cutter to the one adjacent to it.
- Tie a ribbon (use red or green to match the festive theme) at the place where one cookie cutter is attached to the other.
- Tie ribbons at all the joints. Then cut off the ends of the ribbons to the desired length.
- At the top of the wreath, attach a long piece of ribbon. This will be used to hang it up.
- Tuck in a few pieces of the faux pine leaves, and your wreath is ready!
Christmas ‘Tea’ Trees

Do you know a chai lover? This gift will blow their mind! Ask the kids to pitch in as you make this pretty Christmas tree with tea bags.
What you need
- cardboard or Styrofoam
- glue
- tea bags (individually wrapped)
- tealight candle (hollow, used)
How to make
- Make a cone shape with cardboard or Styrofoam, keeping in mind the height of the tree. Stick the ends to make sure the cone stays in shape.
- Attach a circular piece of cardboard to make the base of the tree.
- Using glue start sticking the tea bags one by one, from the base of the cone. Choose brightly colored tea bags or green ones to make your tree look pretty.
- When you start the next row, slightly overlap the tea bags over the ones you have already stuck so that the cardboard isn’t visible.
- To the cone's base, attach the tealight candle using glue. You can add rice to the hollow in the tealight candle to add weight so that the tree doesn’t topple.
- Cut out a star from the cardboard and place it at the top of the cone. Your tea tree is now ready. (The tea bags can be removed one by one from the top for later use.)
Santa Slime

This handmade Christmas gift idea is also a great activity to do with your child. The fluffy slime will stay fluffy as long as you keep it in an airtight jar. Later, you can also use it as regular slime.
What you need
For the jar
- Mason jar
- wide black ribbon
- gold glitter glue
- 2 black buttons
For the slime
- red glitter glue
- ¼ cup water
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 4 cups shaving cream
- red food coloring
- 2 tbsp contact solution (used for contact lenses)
How to make
The jar
- Stick the black ribbon around the center of the Mason jar.
- Draw a square shape around the center with the gold glitter glue to resemble a belt buckle. Let it dry.
- Stick two black buttons above the black ribbon. Your Santa jar is now ready.
The slime
- Empty the bottle of red glitter glue into the water and mix well using a spoon.
- Mix in the baking soda and shaving cream.
- Add in the food coloring and mix well using the spoon (to avoid staining your hands).
- Then add the contact solution, one teaspoon at a time, and knead slowly, making sure the slime doesn’t become too sticky.
- Keep kneading to get good consistency. If the slime is not fluffy enough, add another cup of shaving cream. If it’s not sticky enough, add a little more of the contact solution.
- Store the slime in the Santa Mason jar and seal it to keep the slime fluffy until use.

Pine-Scented Candles

These striped, pine-scented candles will make for a beautiful, sweet-smelling gift, and will raise the festive mood. They are also easy to make and blend in well with the holiday décor.
What you need
- glass jars
- soy wax chips
- green dye
- pine-scented essential oil
- candle wicks
- small wooden sticks (to hold the wick before the wax dries)
- scissors
How to make
- Melt 10 cups of soy wax chips in a large, heavy pot on medium heat.
- Once the wax has melted, add a few drops of the pine-scented essential oil to it.
- Divide and pour the wax into two heat-proof bowls that can keep the wax hot.
- Add several drops of green dye into one of the bowls. Mix and make sure the wax turns green.
- Place a wick at the bottom of a glass jar, wrap the top of the wick around a wooden stick, and set the stick on the rim of the jar. This way the wick stays upright when you pour the wax.
- Pour one layer of green wax, wait for it to cool, and then pour a layer of white wax. Wait until each layer cools before pouring the next layer.
- After you’re done, remove the stick and cut the wick.
- Wrap the candles with ribbons and gift them to your friends and family!
