The best quality I imbibed from my mother and maternal grandmother is their generosity. Both of them believed in doing lots of philanthropic work. Both never went to the office and earned money, but they never saw that as a drawback. They used to do a lot of poor feeding. Whoever went to visit them never went back hungry. The watchman and maid were all given coffee and 2 simple meals daily. Even now, my mother who is 70+ gives a lot of charity in the form of clothes and education towards the poor.
From the day I started working, I, too, donate a part of my salary. I call it 'God Money ' and use it for different charities. Both me and my brother are very proud of my mother's generous heart and both of us try to participate in many charitable activities.
I like their principle of life- God does not give everything to everybody but by God's grace if you have extra, always thank Him for it and share a bit of what you earn to bring smiles to others, then only you will be successful as a human being.
A little me would admire my mother as she had sleepless nights when my dad was building his business. She was bold enough to face all difficulties while managing kids.
Under her guidance and care, I have grown to be the strong woman who drawn inspiration from my mother often while facing difficult situations.
Being alike in fierceness AND fearlessness elevates our bonding!!
My mom is skilled cook .She has amazing sense of smell. By the smell of the food she used to say the taste ...whether it is salty or spicy etc ..
After cooking she used to season the food which gave rich taste ...which added more flavour ..
I have developed the same habit of sense of smell from my mother . ..When I prepare my mother's recipe the unique smell of food always reminds me of my mother's love ❤️ 💞
God creates us in his own image and in her own image a mother creates her child. Although everything I know has been taught to me by my Maa yet there is one thing that she has taught me the best, "Face your problems head on and there are chances you may succeed, don't just quit without even trying". My mom diagnosed of Breast cancer 3rd stage a couple of years after my marriage. I was shattered to my bones on hearing the news but when I met her the first time after the news I was flabbergasted, that woman who didn't even know whether or not she will live to see us tomorrow was laughing and cracking jokes with her jamai. She fought the disease head on and came out shinning. She is still with me and I am proud to say that being her daughter I have learnt facing my problems head on #likeyoudomaa.
I inherited my mom's trademark smile and her talkativeness. These inherited habits of talking my heart out and smiling even in pain, has helped me navigate the toughest phases of my life with ease. People compliment us for our contagious smiles and empathetic talks which they feel are soothing and healing. These habits help us spread happiness and joy and have won us a lot of close and loving friends.
The one habit of my Mom that will stay with me forever and ever is, "LIVING LIFE WITH POSITIVITY AND WITH A SMILE"
Yes from my very childhood days my mom has taught me to face the challenges and hurdles of life with a brave heart, positive attitude and with a bright smile..
Keeping that one habit of my Mom with me,, I have learnt to Smile During Struggles, Gather Strength from Distress and Growing Brave by Reflection!!!
My mother has taught me this greatest lesson of not to hurt anyone...would certainly love to pass on to my next generation. She taught me... with time people become more rough n rude and it's that time when your patience is tested especially when it's tough to retain that goodness in you... difficult to retain that good human being in you. Out of so many things she taught me I have atleast learnt os not to hurt people and keep humanity alive... become a good human being that people appreciate , praise n find a comfort to be with💞
One habit I got from my mom was to always respect & value all human beings without any discrimination against caste, creed or color. Today I am a practicing doctor and very truly her this habit has helped me all the way. Whosoever visits me . . They all are one!
प्रतिमा में ईश्वर हो ना हो प्रति मां में ईश्वर हैं ! ❤️
I have got everything from My Maa, some through genetics, some through roaming in and around her, some through seeing her all day and some through her valuable teachings.
Personal touches make memories more special. It's the way my maa tucks me in at night, sings my favorite lullabies, and the warmth of her hugs when I need comfort. These intimate moments create lasting bonds that shape who I am today.
One of the best life lessons I learned from my mother is the importance of kindness. She always emphasized treating others with compassion and understanding, even in difficult situations. It's a lesson that has stayed with me and shaped how I interact with people every day. Piyu Jain
My mom is a wonderful homemaker because she has a lot of love for nature & animals, and a strong passion for sustainability.
Before I even understood what upcycling was, my mother was reusing old toothbrushes to clean hard-to-reach corners or shoe grooves, and using old t-shirts to clean the grimiest messes. As a young girl, often I wanted her to buy new cleaning rags or throw out used toothbrushes immediately. But now I understand that my mom was showcasing what true sustainability means-to nurture and care for something so well that its lifespan is extended indefinitely. Everything in my home goes through a strict "can I use this later?" test before it gets disposed of or recycled. From sauce jars (I use them as drinking glasses) to cardboard boxes (I build them into castles for my house rabbits), I see potential in everything. Whenever I see that I have too much of something, it serves as a reminder to be thoughtful about my waste. I get it from my mother, who is the most resourceful person I've ever met. Her approach is to source anything they need secondhand or make it themselves from scrap material, and exhaust all their options before purchasing new items. It's largely become my own approach, too, although it looks different for me in a city apartment than it does for them in a rural setting. I also learnt making Bioenzymes from Fruit peels, Jaggery & Water, composting and gardening from her.
My mom is very punctual in her work place and home. And she will start her day with doing yoga and meditation. She will say my health and wealth is so good. Because of doing certain things. But I was so lazy to do all the work. I refused to wake up early. But after my college i started working a s a teacher in private school. So my mother wake up early morning. Somedays I was unhappy to wake up. But after long time i started to wake up early. I started doing yoga and meditation after that I will help her to complete all the work. Before 8:30 am I will get ready to catch my vehicle to go to school. Thank you dear amma for waking up early. Nowadays i feeling very happy to wake up early. #likeyoudoma
Some of the habits of my mom are that she always puts herself last..she allows everyone to hv their share first..all must hv hot rotis n puris made by her but she will sit to eat last when the it has become cold..she always ignores her health..any sickness or injury n she will never visit any doctor or tk medicines..it.will heal on its own it's OK I'm fine her words..another habit is to life only fr her kids..she never thought of herself ..everything n all was only fr her family. Another is not taking enuf rest or holiday she kept on working endlessly ignoring herself all the while. N never shopping fr herself..any occasion function or festival she always had time to look things up fr us ...clothes accessories shoes..kids must feel happy bt she never got stuff fr herself...all these habits though I never noticed in childhood..I realised as I became a mother.i slowly acquired exactly the same habits as my mother..it was then that I evaluated n realised that I'm turning into my mother's reflection..bt since I realised it I always tell my mom to put aside her bad habits n to live her life fr her ownself ..it's not being selfish ..self care is a priority ...bt ma she never learns
Who says you can't see God, as it's said God has many forms, look at your mom.

It's interesting how we often emulate our parents as we grow up. I've found myself inheriting my mom's habit of deep thinking and getting emotional after watching TV shows. And now, as a parent myself, I've also picked up her knack for keeping things clean and organized. It's like passing down a legacy, isn't it?
