When our kid is in a high school relationship:
1. Start by being open and supportive. Listen without judgment so they feel comfortable talking to us.
2. Set healthy boundaries, like respecting curfews and balancing time between friends, family, and school.
3. Talk about what a good relationship looks like—mutual respect, trust, and kindness.
4. Share advice on handling disagreements calmly and safely.
5. Remind them it’s okay to ask for space or time alone. Be there if they have questions or concerns, and remember: showing trust and support can help them feel secure and make smart choices in their relationship.

These are such helpful tips for supporting teens in their relationships! I’ve found that sharing my own teen experiences can make the conversation more relatable, and adding personal touches, like gifting a small, personalized item, can help keep communication open and show them we’re there for them. Thanks for sharing!
