The Arulmigu Kapaleeshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was built approximately in seventh century. The Gopuram inside the temple marks as a unique example of Dravidian architectural style. A traveller cannot help but notice the inscriptions in the premises of the temple that date back to 12th century. The Arulmigu Kapaleeshwar Temple has a tank in the West which is surrounded by broad streets on four sides. Goddess Parvati is worshipped in the temple and has been incarnated as Goddess Karpagambal or the 'Goddess of the Wish-Yielding Tree'. Arulmigu Karpagambal is enshrined at the entrance and situated exactly in front of the Goddess. The mount of the Goddess is a stone sculpture of Lion located outside the temple. The Arulmigu Kapaleeshwar Temple hosts six different kinds of pujas namely Ko pooja,Vaikarai Pooja, Kaala sandhi Puja, Uchi Kala Pooja, Evening Puja, Kala Puja and Ardhajama Pooja. The temple is thronged by devotees throughout the year. Major festivals like Brahmotsavam or Arupathumoovar Festival, Theppa Thiruvizha Float Festival, Navaratri Festival, and Vasanta Utsavam are celebrated at the Arulmigu Kapaleeshwar Temple I love this temple and enjoy all occasions Here I love this place. Happy Madras Day

This is Valluvar Kottam,a temple chariot like-monument in Chennai, built to honour the renowned classical Tamil poet and saint, Thiruvalluvar. A popular Tamil poet and philosopher, he has been attributed with the creation of Thirukkurals which are hailed as one of the greatest works of Tamil literature. It is also known for its great architecture, built with innovative layouts and well-thought execution. The sublime beauty of Valluvar Kottam is best experienced during the morning hours when the city is just waking up to the day, or you can make a visit to this destination during the evening hours when the sun is just setting over the horizon. #MadrasDay wishes to you team

KAPALESWARAR TEMPLE All over Chennai you will find a variety of temples. These temples are beautifully decorated and have gorgeous artwork around them. Most of the temples are constructed using typical Dravidian architectural style. During festivals, the temples in Chennai come to life with a lot of fervour and happiness
