The one hour assigned for gadgetfree activity was a most enjoyable time for us. After a long time in this pandemic we as a family stopped work on our respective gadgets. My kids organised family games which were very interesting and we drove and shared views on different topics. There was so much interaction between all that we continued past the allotted time. Actually we did not realise how much time we spent. Thank you team Parent circle for this as it was a memorable experience

We made the alphabet characters from the wheat dough and stick those on back of the door. My baby really likes to play with dough as he watche me while cooking. And this was very best time we spent together in #gudgetFreeHour.

During #GadgetFreeHour 2020, we asked parents to turn off their gadgets for an hour and spend time with their children. We are truly overwhelmed by the response that we received. Over 15 million lives touched! The numbers tell their own story! Thanks to every single one of you for being part of this initiative and helping to spread the word. Please do share your #GadgetFreeHour Stories here with us!

The present situation that is the pandemic has created havoc but on the positive side Athishay inculcated the habit of reading which I am very happy and proud. Started with Magic pot, Geronimo Stilton and so on.... Today we utilized the time ie gadget free hour for the same as I had bought him a new book, Sudha murthys Grandma stories.Few I read it out for him as it has less pictures and wanted to make intersting...after 2 stories he started reading on his own. Both were busy reading.Todays reader tomorrow's leader

Dear Parent Circle Team, Thanks for choosing my son Ramanathan's entry in Creative Writing. Next I would wish to thank the team for the Gadget Free Hour term . Last year itself we had adapted the Gadget free hour in terms of switching off the gadgets but didn't spend the whole hour by playing actively,as I suppose we had to do with the school studies. This year we used it to the maximum by playing Word Link, Snake and Ladder, Ludo board games. My son had got a promise from me yesterday itself, that this week end we are to follow the gadget free hour by either reading story book or playing chess . As we both are employed, the whole day he spends his time in the morning with gadgets and waits for our return in the evening. Yesterday's event was really an interesting ,enjoyable and exciting event for my son that is why he's even planned for today's gadget free hour. Hope we'll adopt this every week. Once again I Thank Parent Circle Team.

Gadget free hour was really exciting. As such mostly I spend less screen time with my daughter in a day. But having taken this pledge , it was really an add on. Had fun time playing treasure hunt with all her toys, infact she found it interesting when I kept changing objects to play peek a boo with her toys. More physical activity as I kept changing rooms and her toys while she had to run and around and spot them hiding. Second , it also made me more creative as she wanted me to tell stories with her toy world. I also made an extension of my story telling asking her to give her own ideas and end to the story. It was fun to see her creative answers. We also had cake cutting and get together for a send off party. Since ours was a safe environment in the apartment, she got this opportunity to be with her friends for a while . It is really wonderful without gadgets how much we can do and spend time fruitfully in our own world.

My Dog was waiting for this moment . We had lot of fun being gadget free. The most surprised was the dog at home. Looks like very rarely she had all eyes on her. Family even extended the time by 10 minutes to enjoy it fully. I must admit the first 10 minutes was tough to see every one looking at each other as something lost

It is a wonderful initiative to go gadget free on a particular date and time, to start with. Especially during these stressful times, when many parents and almost all the children are much dependent on their gadgets for work and for learning. Staying away from gadgets is an effective way to reconnect with the family, to relax,to rewind and to reinvent themselves. I would happily be a party to it and shall promote the idea with my friends, family and my students.
