My younger daughter's first Diwali.... She was 3 months old..She was a preterm baby, had been into NICU for 15 days due to low birth weight and low blood sugar... But finally by the Mercy of God and prayers of all our near and dear ones, she recovered soon. This makes our Diwali more joyful and brighter...

Dressing up a teenager who questions traditions and seeks an explanation on the social norms and constructs (Why should only married women, and not men, wear a toe ring kind of questions) is a challenge. So when I finally got my daughter Vanshika Devuni to actually put on a bindi and sport a neckpiece for Ganesh Chaturdhi this year, it was truly celebratory. Also mark of having giving this thinking child convincing answers about our values and traditions.
