Sreelakshmi Class 10 CBSE Topper (2018): Exclusive Tips

For class 10 CBSE topper Sreelakshmi G, her pillars of strength are her teachers, her parents and God. She believes in hard work and brushes away the loss of one mark in mathematics as a "careless mistake."

Sreelakshmi only lost one mark, and that's what prevented her from getting the perfect score (499/500).

Emerging as one of the national toppers did come as a surprise to Sreelakshmi and her parents. However, she says that if she had to go back in time and attempt the board examinations once more, she wouldn't change anything about her method of study or approach. But, Sreelakshmi insists that she'd "read the questions thoroughly twice or thrice," before attempting the question papers.

When asked about her future plans, this 2018 CBSE topper from Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya, Kakkanad, Kerala dreams of becoming "a good medical practitioner who stands for the needy and the underprivileged." She likes to relax by listening to music, watching movies and talking to her mother. We share with you exclusive tips given by Sreelakshmi on how to crack the board examinations with good marks.

Tips from CBSE topper 2018 on how to become a topper in class 10:

1. Start studying from the day you start class 10. Be regular and systematic in your approach. Clarify any doubts you have regarding any of the concepts with your teacher.
2. Understand that time and tide wait for none. So, make a timetable for studying after coming back from school and stick to it.
3. In the exam hall, be cool and relaxed. Read the question paper thoroughly and try to understand the questions. In social science and maths, first attempt to answer all the questions that appear toward the end of the paper, as they carry the maximum marks. Also, how you present your answers matters. Write your answers as points, draw labelled diagrams and write all the steps, as you get marks for the steps even if your final answer is wrong.
4. Do your best and leave the rest to God.
5. While revising the syllabus for the exams, remember to label the parts that require careful studying. Make notes for last-minute references.
6. Study every day. Decide which subjects you should study in the morning and which ones in the evening.
