Rajeshwari credited her parents, especially her mother, for their unwavering encouragement. “Their guidance and support, particularly during my Class 10 boards, were vital,” she said. “They provided the resources I needed and stood by me during challenging times. My mother, in particular, was with me at all times. She often spent hours at night helping me prepare, guiding me, and doing her best to support me.” This constant support and dedication from her family were instrumental in helping her achieve her academic goals.
Looking toward the future, Rajeshwari has chosen the science stream for her higher studies, with a subject combination that includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, and Web Application. She has a clear vision for her career, aspiring to enter the medical field. “I’ve always wanted to contribute meaningfully to the world, and the medical field is where I see myself making a difference,” she explained. Her interest in medicine is driven by a desire to help others and make a significant impact on society.
Rajeshwari’s journey underscores the importance of having a strong support system and a clear focus on one’s goals. Her story is an inspiration for students preparing for their board exams, demonstrating that with the right guidance, resources, and determination, academic excellence is achievable.
Here’s what Rajeshwari’s preparation strategy looked like, in her own words:
1. Focusing on NCERT books: “NCERT books were the cornerstone of my preparation. I made sure to learn every line of my textbooks thoroughly, as NCERT provides a solid foundation for all subjects. For subjects like Science, I practiced all the diagrams meticulously and created concise notes and mind maps to aid my revision.”
2. Managing time: “Time management was crucial. On school days, I would return home around 4 p.m. and study until dinnertime. After dinner, I revised the day’s content and completed my homework. On non-school days, I started studying at 8 a.m., ensuring to take breaks in between to avoid burnout.”
3. Taking mock tests: “Regular revision and mock tests were integral to my strategy. Revising periodically helped reinforce my understanding and retention of concepts, while mock tests simulated exam conditions and helped me identify areas for improvement. I believe that practice makes one perfect, and consistent practice is the key to achieving excellence.”
1. Focus on NCERT Books: Start with NCERT textbooks, as they provide a comprehensive understanding of all subjects. Learn each line thoroughly and don’t skip any part.
2. Create Concise Notes: Make concise notes and mind maps for each chapter. This will help with quick revisions and better retention of concepts.
3. Practice Diagrams: For subjects like Science, practice all diagrams regularly. Visual understanding is crucial for answering diagram-based questions effectively.
4. Time Management: Develop a study schedule and stick to it. On school days, dedicate time after school for studies and revision. On non-school days, start early and study in focused intervals with regular breaks. It’s important that you pursue your hobbies besides academics as well. (Rajeshwari maintained her hobby of writing throughout Class 10.)
5. Regular Revision: Periodically revise what you’ve studied. Regular revision helps reinforce concepts and keeps information fresh in your memory.
6. Attempt Mock Tests: Take mock tests to simulate exam conditions. This practice helps you manage time during exams and identify areas that need improvement.
7. Stay Organized: Keep your study materials and notes organized. An organized study space can enhance your focus and efficiency.
8. Healthy Lifestyle: Maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep. A healthy body supports a healthy mind.
9. Seek Help When Needed: Don’t hesitate to ask parents, teachers or peers for help if you’re struggling with a topic. Understanding concepts clearly is more important than memorizing.
10. Stay Positive and Confident: Believe in yourself and stay positive. Confidence can greatly impact your performance, even during exams!
Remember, consistent effort is the key to success. With the right strategy and mindset, you can achieve your academic goals. Best of luck to all the students preparing for their board exams!
