A heartfelt Indian motherhood transformation story about how becoming a mom reshaped one woman’s priorities, sparked honest parenting conversations, and inspired a supportive parent community focused on children’s health, happiness, and emotional safety

Sneha Jhaveri, mom of two wonderful girls and a salon owner for nearly two decades, is just like many of you, a curious, questioning, slightly obsessed mum trying to do the best for her kids. Her journey has taught her that while she hustles for her dreams, nothing matters more than her kids' health and happiness. Here's her inspiring story.
I began my career as a hairdresser, building a salon rooted in beauty, confidence, and conversation. For years, my work revolved around helping women feel glamorous, polished, and empowered through their appearance. What I didn’t realise then was that the most profound transformation of my life was still ahead of me.
Motherhood shifted everything.
I stopped tracking the latest styles from Paris and Milan and instead found myself researching articles on picky eating. The questions I wanted answered, and even my Google search history, were transformed. From choosing the right school to planning healthy breakfast options, from limiting screen time to navigating the constant undercurrent of “Am I doing this right?”, I found myself searching for honest conversations. Not perfect answers, just real ones.
What struck me most was how many mothers were carrying the same invisible weight. We were all researching, second-guessing, comparing notes, and endlessly discussing the same concerns, yet rarely pausing to admit how overwhelming it truly felt.
That realisation slowly led me to seek out more open conversations with educators, doctors, and fellow mothers. I was not an expert, but I wanted mothers like me to have access to more than just fragmented advice from WhatsApp chats.
I also recognised how privileged I was. Through my salon, I met twenty new women every day. Whenever I felt uncertain, I could tap into a diverse pool of experiences and insights that not every mother, especially those who have stepped away from work to take on the demanding role of full-time motherhood, has access to.
I wanted to extend that diversity of thought and experience to more women. Through open conversations with educators, doctors, and fellow mothers, I hoped to simplify the noise and make parenting feel less isolating. It began as a dialogue, but it grew into something deeper, a sense of community.
Today, that journey continues to evolve. Whether through conversations with experts, fellow parents, or quiet reflections at home, I’ve learned that what matters most is holding space for each other. I hope more parents find spaces where they feel safe to share, without judgment or pressure. To remind parents that, beyond milestones and metrics, what matters most is raising children who feel safe to be themselves. And that can only happen when we, as parents, feel safe too.
Parenting isn’t about perfect answers. It is about finding courage in honest conversations.
