Journaling as a hobby
"The habit of writing thus for my own eye only is good practice. It loosens the ligaments. Never mind the misses and the stumbles" - Virginia Woolf

Do you want to beat stress and get your inner creative juices flowing? Then, maintaining a journal might be the ideal thing for you to do. The benefits of keeping a journal are aplenty.

In fact, many famous and influential people in history had the habit of keeping a detailed journal of their lives. This served two main purposes: a permanent record for posterity and a cathartic release for the people writing them. Even if you do not feel the need to keep a journal, try to keep one, as writing a journal has many benefits and is also an immensely enjoyable experience.

According to an article titled, "10 surprising benefits you'll get from keeping a journal" by Thai Nguyen, published in The Huffington Post in February 2015, mentions some key benefits such as, stretching your IQ, achieving goals, emotional intelligence, improving communication skills and sparking creativity. Thus, although keeping a journal may seem like a simple task, it can make a big difference in your life.

Some of the famous books featuring diaries are: The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney and Z for Zachariah by Robert C O'Brien.
