Do-it-yourself Containers: A Pretty Way To Reuse Plastic Containers

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • Any plastic container
  • Old newspaper (cut or torn into small pieces)
  • White glue like Fevicol
  • Paints
  • Paintbrush
  • Water

METHOD

1. Mix water and white glue in a bowl. Apply a thin layer of this white glue mixture on the plastic container and stick the newspaper bits carefully.

2. Cover the whole container with bits of paper. Leave it aside for at least one hour.

As plastic has a nonporous surface, we apply a layer of newspaper to give it a rough texture.

3. Once the paper is completely dry, apply a thick layer of white acrylic paint and keep it aside to dry.

4. Once the coat of white paint is dry, you can draw or stick any pattern on it. (I have drawn my favorite Warli art using acrylic paints.) Use the container to store your items in a beautiful, creative way.
