Building software to help 6 to 12 years childs if you are parent read this

Hi parents! 👋

I am from India and exploring an idea to help children learn maths better. I want to understand what parents really need before building the product.

The idea is an AI maths teacher for children aged 7–11 (Classes 2–6).

It would be like a personal maths teacher on a phone or tablet. The child could talk to the AI teacher, solve questions using things on the screen like number blocks, number lines and fraction bars, and get help when they don't understand something.

Instead of just showing the correct answer, it would try to understand where the child is struggling, explain the concept in a different way and check if the child understands it. Parents would also be able to see what their child is learning and where they need more help.

I want to ask parents a few questions. Please share your honest opinion. There are no right or wrong answers.

1. About your child

  • Which class is your child in?

  • Which school board do they follow (CBSE, ICSE, state board, IB or something else)?

2. Maths problems

  • Which maths topics does your child find difficult?

  • Does your child need extra help with maths, or are they already doing well?

3. What you use today

  • How does your child learn maths outside school? Tuition, a private tutor, an app, YouTube, books or help from parents?

  • What do you like or dislike about the current option?

  • Do you pay for extra maths learning? If yes, roughly how much per month?

4. About this idea

  • Would you let your child try this kind of AI maths teacher?

  • Which part sounds most useful: talking to an AI teacher, solving questions using objects on the screen, getting different explanations when stuck, or seeing your child's progress?

  • What would make you hesitate to let your child use it?

5. Device

  • Would your child use it on your Android phone, an iPhone, a tablet or a computer?

  • Would sharing your phone with your child be a problem?

6. Price
If the product genuinely helps your child understand maths better, what monthly price would feel reasonable?

  • Free only

  • ₹199–₹499

  • ₹500–₹999

  • ₹1,000–₹1,499

  • ₹1,500 or more

  • I would not pay for this type of product

7. What is missing?

  • What would you want this product to do that current maths apps or tuition don't do well?

  • What would convince you that it is actually helping your child learn, rather than just keeping them busy?

I am still researching the idea and am not selling anything. Honest feedback—including reasons why you would not use it—is very helpful.

You can answer here or send me a message. Thank you! 🙏
