Hi Sushmitha,
It all depends upon the extent of the tear. If it is a grade 1 or 2 injury, it can improve with the R.I.C.E. technique (Rest - Ice - Compression - Elevation) and physiotherapy. However, if it is a complete tear, it must be reconstructed via surgery, as the ACL does not grow on its own.
Any which way, it has a little long recovery, so be patient, stay strong, and take loads of rest.
I remember a quote that really kept me going during my ACL surgery recovery phase - It said, "Butterflies rest when it rains because it damages their wings. So, it's okay to rest during the storms of life. You will fly again when it's over."
Take care.
