Kids love rains and hate them too because they bring obstacles in their daily outdoor activities.
We all have loved floating those paper boats in rain water and get wet despite the scoldings of our moms.
The main point to remember here is that kids will be kids and it's should be kept in mind that even they want to enjoy in rain.
Instead of letting them stay away from everything, let them be kids.
To a certain point, everything is perfect and controllable. No kid will be allowed to stay out for hours in the rain, in any case.
Some precautions to remember during monsoons are:-
-Make sure to change your kids clothes immediately after they have fun in the rain.
-Mix some antiseptic liquid with warm water for bathing purpose.
-Do not allow kids to stay in wet clothes for a long time.
-Make sure your kids are given a good head-rinse even post bathing.
-A light massage using a massage oil your child uses regular, after post-rain bathing, is beneficial.
-Regularly giving immunity-boosting recipes to your kids, can actually make them less prone to developing a cold when they get wet in the first rains.
-Always stay around your kids when they get wet.
- Never leave your kids to get wet alone in the rain, accidents can happen.
Over the years, we all have heard how getting wet in the rain gives invitation to common cold. This is a fact but letting kids enjoy once in a while will actually freshen their minds up.

1. First of all, let the kids play during monsoon, don't stop them just because they will catch cold or fever.
2. Drink warm milk and curd ( helps in digestion) at least once in a day.
3. Avoid mosquitoes as much as you can. Apply mosquito repellent cream when they go out for playing. Use mosquito net at night.
4. Keep medicines like paracetamol, vapour rub, nasal drops ready at home.
5. After playing once kids are back home clean them first, wash hands with soap, drink lots of water, drink home made lentil/ chicken / vegetable soups whenever you can.

With monsoons comes so many diseases like skin infections, water borne diseases, mosquito bite borne diseases etc. So to keep our children safe and protected from these diseases, parents must ensure that
1. Children keep their clothes dry. After getting drenched in rain, they must first take a bath with antibacterial soap and put on dry clothes and undergarments.
2. Include ginger tea/milk, turmeric milk etc in their diet. Give them chyavanprash regularly at night with warm milk.
3. Give them immunity booster homeopathic medicines, if your child has week immunity
4. Stay protected from mosquitoes, don't let them play in puddles filled with water.
Use mosquito nets at night.
5. Don't let children play in fields and ground with tall grasses as snakes or other reptiles may hide there in rains. Don't allow your children play in the open after it gets dark in the evening as many insects breed around and come out after it gets dark, during the monsoons.
6. Use neem soaps, candid dusting powder often to prevent skin rashes
