I have always been conscious about my health and diet as both go hand in hand. For the past 8yrs have been working on various physical activity ,infact i would say my day starts with walking and yoga alternatively. But we don't know what future has instored for us . It so happened that during my pregnancy since it was highbriwk i was not allowed to do any physical activity inspite of all the walking i did. So after child birth my body underwent a major change .it was a great challenge for me to bring back to form with vigorous workout . Yoga which i have been doing even now has become one with my life and today mynkid also emulates seeing me doing it ,she is gonna be 3 yrs though. It has brought back my flexibility, mindfulness in my day today work and more energy. Practise makes a. Man perfect and if we put into practice, it will really do wonders. Your body says " Take care of me 1% and i shall take care of you99%" . So lets start it today for wellness and good health.

A mother of 2 kids I plan, schedule, and prepare the best I can, but life often gets in the way. A perfectly scheduled day has been crowded with unplanned circumstances, to face with too little sleep and too much caffeine. Trying very hard to care for others, my health is at the bottom of a very long priority list.
While I was busy putting the kids to sleep ans assuring they get 10-12 hours of sleep I forgot that I needed at least 5 hours of sleep myself. I was planning activities because it was my duty to get them physically and mentally busy I forgot that I needed 30 minutes of exercise to keep my mind and body active. I forgot about my health, and for a brief moment, I forgot about myself.
And one morning I woke up.... committed to a new lifestyle. I didnt have to sacrifice any time, energy, or resources that I was pouring into my children. In fact, I would argue that prioritizing my health and well-being actually gave me more time and more energy to spend with the people I love.
This was the beginning of my journey to love myself a little more I started with
    Making Time my friend
I started with planning my day, understanding that things will come up. Schedule time for exercise and preparing a healthy meal, as a duty towards MYSELF.
    Exercising was not a ordeal
I started exercising with music and also got my kids to join me... getting them smaller mats and guiding them.. stopped taking exhaustion as an excuse to skip exercise. Believe it or not, exercise can actually gave me more energy.
    Started getting enough Sleep
I realized when the doctor says ge 7-8 hours of sleep he was right... because getting a full 7-8 hours of rest is truly restorative. I reduced caffeine, switched off the television, and put away the phone.
    Started cooking healthy food
Instead of cooking two different meals for kids and family. I started giving a twist to the food that both kids and elders could with a little change . It was food that was healthy for kids yet elders enjoyed it. This gave me more spare time and less stress making cookig also enjoyable I was now excited of the twist to give....
Managing health and wellness may seem like a large undertaking, especially when you are out of practice. However, any step in the right direction is progress. While this wont happen overnight, establishing a healthy lifestyle is worth your time each and every day. In truth, we are far more valuable to ourselves and to the people depending on us when we are feeling our best. I hope that you will take the challenge and make your year of you.
