Beating is and will never be a solution ..but I agree, at that moment it's the best mums do ..but refrain from doing this ! It makes the kid even more arrogant and he will further not listen ...in fact they will think, that's the worst mom will do and the fear will vanish.. so try and keep your cool and go with the flow .. make things simple and well laid .. it's best to make use of your eyes and voice.. never your hands ..

@Neha Verma Yes, it is not easy. It requires patience on our part. When the child is stubborn and not listening it is very frustrating. The first step is not to react. We must first pause. Give ourselves time to calm down. When we are calmer we can think and respond better. Otherwise when we are agitated, we react in anger and yell or hit and the child too feels threatened and reacts angrily. I have found that I get angry with my children and loose patience easily when I have other things on my mind that are bothering me. Also when both you and the child are not in a good mood, its better not to take any action at that moment. Its a good idea to plan and prepare the child ahead of time or give more time for daily activities to prevent such moments of frustrations.
