healthy nail care habits for your child

Trimming your infant's tiny and delicate nails can be a nail-biting experience. It is probably one of your most scary parenting moments. Yet, it is so important for the health of your little darling that you trim her nails.

Nail care is integral to health and hygiene habits. Until the age of nine or ten, you need to trim your daughter's nails for her. A dermatologist is the right person to show you how to get the job done. So, why is it so important for your child to trim her nails? Fingernails and toenails collect dirt and fungus through the day and need to be cleaned regularly. The fungus and dirt trapped inside your precious child's nails can lead to nail infections. They can also serve as breeding grounds for diseases. Ingrown nails too are causes for nail infections and other illnesses.

Nail biting is a common problem among children. Although it can be a sign of nervousness or anxiety, it is not something that needs to be brought to the immediate attention of a psychologist. So, how can you help your little darling stop biting her nails? Is it okay for my three-year old princess to get a manicure? Would you like a picture-guide or a video tutorial to help you cut your baby's nails? How can nail infections be treated or better still, how can they be prevented?

You'll find the answers to these questions and many more in this ClipBook, designed to equip for the best nail care a parent can provide.

How to stop nail biting in children?

Nail biting is a nervous behaviour and should be looked at as a sign that there is an underlying issue. Not one which every child must go to a therapist for (in actuality, many, many children and adults bite nails), but one which shouldn't go ignored.
