Though homeschooling is relatively unheard of in India, it is very popular in the western countries. Many parents choose the homeschooling method of education for their children over the conventional educational institutions. And according to them, there is no shortage of reasons for doing so.
A couple share their reason for adopting homeschool for their child and why it is great. “We’re not trying to replicate the time, style or content of the classroom. Rather, we’re trying to cultivate a lifestyle of learning in which learning takes place from morning until bedtime, 7 days each week. The ‘formal’ portion of each teaching day is just the tip of the iceberg,” say Steve and Jane Lambert in a blog in mommytothemonsters.com.
These parents also put family togetherness on a higher priority than peer reliance. A blog post The Unplugged Family about homeschooling says, “Families who learn together and spend every day growing with each other are going to be close-knit, period. It's not that schooled kids can't have close relationships within their families, but parents will have to fight harder to make it happen.”
