Travelling With Kids

Looking forward to a holiday, but, anxious about travelling with your children? Follow these tips to reduce the hassles you may face during your trip. Ditch the spontaneity aspect and book ahead. Keep a time buffer at every stage as children love to explore and dawdle. Dress your children comfortably for the weather and terrain. Carry an iPad loaded with music, movies, and games to keep them entertained during long flights.

Encourage children to keep a travel journal of interesting things they see or food they try. Involve older children in the planning of the holiday. Before the trip, do some research about activities for children offered at the places you're going.

Children often fall sick due to the rigours of travel. So, pack all necessary medicines and a thermometer. Pack a small bag with absolute essentials that will always be with you – a first aid kit, wipes, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, snacks, insect repellant, candies to ease air pressure and an extra set of clothes. Also add a security blanket or favourite toy for your little one.

Finally, realize that travelling with children will be different. In the words of humourist Robert Benchley quoted in, “In America there are two classes of travel: First class, and with children.”
