The Elusive Balance

The stress of balancing the act of raising a child with work demands poses a huge challenge. It takes a toll on many aspects of life - it hurts relationships, health and overall happiness.

Per Forbes, today, work-life balance presents an impossible scenario -one that very few can claim to have achieved. This concept means different things to different people. So, how does one find the perfect work-life balance?

Here are a few ways by which you can bring a little more balance to your daily routine.

• Rethink your errands: Think about ways in which you could save time spent on running errands. Order groceries online and get them home delivered, have your dry cleaning picked up and dropped off at home or office.

• Start exercising: It can be hard to take time out for exercise when you are busy. But exercise can help you do more by boosting your energy level and your ability to concentrate.

• Don’t perform non-productive activities: Take stock of activities that are useless and stop doing them. You will be left with time that can be spent with your family instead.

In the article, 10 ways mom can balance work and family, published in Parents, writer Serena Norr says work-life balance can be difficult, especially when you are a mom trying to juggle a full-time job with a family life.
