Single Parents And Work-life Balance

ParentCircle, ParentcircleParentCircle

Being a single parent isn't easy. Life throws many challenges at them. And, in an attempt to not fall under the trials and tribulations of financial burden, many single parents work day and night. But in this bid to financially secure their children, single parents can overlook their duties towards children at home. So, how can single parents strike the balance between home and work?

An article published in talented ladies club suggests nine tips for being a successful single working parent. Of the nine, one of the suggestions is to build a support system and ask for help whenever required. Per the article, ‘Being a single parent can lead to feelings of isolation. No matter how strong you are and how much you’ve achieved to date, you won’t be able to go through the entire single parenting process alone. You’ll need a support structure. This structure could include other mums and people in your local area. If you don’t know many people, try joining baby or toddler groups or getting to know mums at nursery or school. Even just striking up conversation with another mum at the park or local cafe can be the start of a great friendship. Once you have built a support network of positive people, don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it – being a single parent can get tough at times and a little help goes a long way.’
