Recipes For New Moms

Shyamala Sathiyaseelan

Newborns generally become the centre of attention for everyone in the family. However, it is also important to give an equal amount of love, care and support to the new mother, who is recuperating from childbirth.

If you are a new mom, trying to get back to normal life again after delivery can be taxing, both physically and mentally. You will need plenty of rest, nutrition and additional household help to get enough time to breastfeed and bond with your newborn. As a lactating mother, you should eat specific foods to increase breastfeed, improve energy levels, and heal post-delivery wounds and pains. You can browse the Internet or read magazines to find interesting and nutritious recipes. Eating healthy foods throughout the day will provide you with the extra energy you need as a new mom.

According to Halle Berry’s trainer, she used a ‘3-2-1’ rule of thumb, eating three meals, two snacks, and drinking a minimum of 1 litre of water. Shilpa Shetty regained her previous look within ten months of giving birth to her son. In one of her interviews, she suggested that new moms should exercise at least an hour for four to five days a week and eat right to get back in shape.
