Meet The Parents Of The Indian Cricket Team

The victory of the Indian cricket team over Australia in the recently concluded Border–Gavaskar Trophy has once again brought cricket under the spotlight in India.

A win in this series has helped Team India scale new heights as they became only the fifth side to achieve 150 wins in Test cricket.

Along with adding to his mountain of runs, Virat Kohli became the first captain to retain the Border–Gavaskar trophy. The way Jasprit Bumrah bowled showed the world that he is capable of uprooting the stumps of the best batsman.

However, the most exciting find of the series was Cheteshwar Pujara, who was not only the top scorer but also adjudged the man of the series.

But, while we celebrate the win with Team India, shouldn't we also look behind the scenes to find out who put these champs on the path to becoming winners?

The parents of the Indian cricketers have contributed greatly to their success. While some parents were financially stable and could support their children, others had to work hard and make sacrifices to ensure their children made it to the top of the cricketing world.

In the case of Cheteshwar Pujara, he learnt cricketing techniques from his father, Arvind Pujara, who was also a Ranji Trophy player. However, it was his mother who instilled in him the values most important for success like staying calm and focused on his goal.
