The summer months can be unbearably hot with the sun in peak form. People resort to wearing light outfits, drinking lots of fluids, staying indoors for most of the time, lazing by the pool, travelling to the cooler climes of the hill stations and eating light to stay cool.

But, do you know, apart from these measures, there are also foods that can keep you cool?

Apart from these chilled treats, certain foods like bottle gourd, pumpkin, bitter gourd, cucumber, lemon and celery help to soothe our body.

  • Curd – It is a great summer food due to its cooling properties. It can also be had in various forms like Lassi, Raita and Shrikhand.
  • Broccoli – It comprises of 91 per cent water; so apart from being delicious, it also keeps you hydrated.
