Famous Personalities With Disabilities

ParentCircle

The World Health Organization (WHO) says ‘Disabilities is an umbrella term, covering impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions. An impairment is a problem in body function or structure; an activity limitation is a difficulty encountered by an individual in executing a task or action; while a participation restriction is a problem experienced by an individual in involvement in life situations.’

Disabilities are of various types and we don’t have to know them all. Instead, what we should try to remember is that, everyone is born with different abilities, that a lack of certain ability doesn’t diminish anyone’s importance, and that greatness is possible despite disability.

In this ClipBook, we honour a few individuals who have achieved significant accomplishments in their fields despite their disabilities. These greats not only serve as inspiration to those who are differently-abled, but also to the those who aren't.
