Craft Ideas For Toddlers

ParentCircle, ParentcircleParentCircle

There could be no better pastime than to watch your toddler create something on his own. With the development of sensory skills, toddlers become more active and energetic and can play all day long. So, wouldn’t it be a good idea to channelise their energy towards doing tasks that are creative? Engaging children in craftwork is one such option. There are several craft ideas available for toddlers that can help them learn and create at the same time.

Some of the popular craft ideas include building blocks, forming words using the alphabet, or drawing and colouring. These are simple, fun crafts that are full of colour and joy. Also, they are inexpensive and available at any game house or stationery shop. But it is suggested that leaving your child alone with the activity materials is avoided. Overseeing them assures you that they are safe. You can also play games with them that involve simple general knowledge questions on animals, birds, fruits, vegetables, etc.

Encouraging your toddler to do craft activities from an early age builds his confidence. Doctors also suggest that this time spent by the parent-child bonding over craft is registered in the toddler’s memory and serves as a moment to remember as he grows up into an adult.

According to an article titled 5 developmental benefits of arts and crafts, published in nspt4kids, "Crafts such as coloring, drawing, cutting, all require your child to use both of their hands together. This skill is important in other areas of their lives as they continue to grow, such as writing, tying shoes, typing and so much more!”
