ParentCircle, ParentcircleParentCircle

With Father’s Day round the corner, we put the spotlight on 20 famous personalities who have excelled in their respective fields and are doting fathers as well. This ClipBook is a tribute to these men who serve as role models to other fathers.

Amitabh Bachchan, undisputedly the finest of Indian actors, is also an amazing dad. He has always spent quality time with his two children – Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan. He is a very supportive father – His son Abhishek could not live up to the stature of his father but Amitabh stood by him every step of the way.

Harvir Singh Nehwal, father of Saina Nehwal, was undoubtedly the reason behind her success. This doting father would drive over 20 km, braving the winter morning chill of Hyderabad, to drop Saina at the Academy for her training sessions. A great parent, Nehwal is also a brilliant scientist at the Directorate of Oil Seeds Research, Hyderabad.

In the article, ‘Want my children to be judged as individuals,’ published in The Quint, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar says he is proud of his colossal achievements on the field but would want his children to follow their own dreams. An article in One India quotes Sachin: "Every kid needs protection, love, good food and play to support growth and development, and it's up to both parents to provide these."

Sudha Menon’s book, 'Legacy: Letters From Eminent Parents To Their Daughters', carries a letter by the former Indian badminton player, Prakash Padukone, to his daughters where he gives them advice on how to love one’s profession. Padukone stood by his daughter Deepika's decision to take up acting. "How could I let my own daughter down when all she needed of me was to have faith in her passion and capability?," he says in an article published in Hindustan Times.
