Aromatherapy - The Healing Fragrance

Unknown, ParentcircleParentCircle

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing modality. It can be used for healing the mind, body and the soul.

According to the website of National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, naha.org,  ‘Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit.’

Aromatherapy is an alternate healing treatment that can also be used for children. From minor cuts and burns to sleep problems and anxiety, there is an aromatherapy extract for these problems. Tea tree oil can be used for treating cuts and scrapes. Chamomile oil is beneficial for digestive problems. Lavender oil works well to relieve stress and also for treating sunburn. Parents can also use aromatherapy for themselves to find relief from a variety of disorders. Juniper oil is beneficial for treating pain from arthritis. Eucalyptus oil can cure headaches and citrus oils can be helpful for treating depression.

With aromatherapy, careful usage is crucial. You require only a few drops of aromatherapy oils for each use. These natural healing extracts are quite potent and are used in combination with carrier oils such as those of sweet almond, kernel, coconut, jojoba or apricot. Aromatherapy oils also need proper storage away from sunlight. If you are unsure of using aromatherapy oils, you can consult a certified aromatherapist to learn about this alternate healing remedy.
