ParentCircle, ParentcircleParentCircle

An article in EducateDeviate says, “Alternative education, quite simply, means any form of education that takes place outside the traditional schooling system." The article further says, "Traditional schooling' in this context refers to the usual, mainstream forms of schooling – primary school, secondary school, college, university. These are usually characterised by standardised curricula and examinations, as well as a set grading system.”

Resorting to alternative educational methods is becoming increasingly popular amongst parents. In a class of 30 to 40 students, parents believe, that most often, their child does not get the individual attention and care. This is one of the most important reasons parents are choosing to go the alternative way! From home-schooling to Montessori form of education, there are many other educational approaches to learning you can make you child take.

However, this is no trend that you can follow just because a lot of others are. Changing the entire mode of education of your child is a humongous step, and you need to be extremely decisive, serious and considerate about it. Also, it is equally important to understand the signs that indicate that your child needs an alternative mode of education.
