The phrase 'addiction' is usually associated with a craving for intoxicants or drugs. However, that's not the case. Even an innocuous habit(s) over which we lose control and indulge in despite knowing its adverse effects and consequences is also an addiction.

As parents, we do our best to teach our children how to lead a healthy life. However, for various reasons, some children end up craving for things that are harmful to them. 

Today, the scope for getting addicted to something is much higher than before. Advancements in technology mean that our children are now vulnerable to new forms of addiction, which include things like the Internet, video games, and social media.
