Over the years, India has produced several great writers who have influenced a whole generation through the magic of their writing and continue to do so even today.

Who does not know RK Narayan who introduced us to the magical world of Malgudi? Or Mulk Raj Anand who pierced our hearts with the depiction of untouchables in his classic “Untouchable”. And, the immensely popular Ruskin Bond never fails to instil a yearning for the mountains through this works.

Among the newer generation of Indian authors in English, Amish gave a different, and interesting, twist to the story of God Shiva through his best-selling debut work – The Immortals of Meluha and created his own legion of followers.
