@Devi a couple years back I was doing a workshop for a 100 college faculty on how to teach better and connect with students. My first question to them was - How many of you wanted to become teachers from young ? 3 hands went up. I asked the rest as to why they choose teaching. most of them said - because we didn't get a better job. I don't think this live example needs any explanation. the day the system has exams that test teachers just like they test kids every year + there is a fair compensation structure for our teachers, there will be good minds that will teach. it is only after this must the focus be on WHAT and HOW to teach. you can have the best content and a mediocre teacher and your result will be mediocre. you can have a brilliant passionate teacher and ok content and you can have brilliant students.
@Chakradhari Yes, teaching profession must be chosen with passion and with freedom not without choice. Thus the teachers profession is the most noble and need to be paid and recruited accordingly. The mindset of all the stakeholders must be addressed to bring a change.
