Apr 20, 2019Ubharuni Marathi manachi gudhi sajra karuya ha gudi padwa. Gudi padwa is a Marathi new year. This day marks a new beginning and new year in our lives. The gudi we hoist in our home is believed to ward off evil, invite prosperity and good wealth and luck to us. The historical significance of gudi is that it symbolizes Lord Rama's victory over ravan. Hindus believe that on this day brahma created the universe. We eat jaggery and neem leaves (sweet and bitter) in the morning on this day which conveys a message that life isn't happy all the time their will be bad times too but we have to learn to balance all situations and learn something from bitter moments also
