Mar 19, 2019First of all hats off to you for managing a demanding job and family.. Your 12 yr old wants to sit with you through out the evening.. How about you speak to him and say that you can manage an hr or few hours but not more.. Another thing is, kids grow so fast and in few yrs, for instance, ten yrs from now, he won't be asking the same from you. His needs and personality would have changed. Just make sure you won't feel bad looking back that you wish you did what he requested you to do. So somewhere you might have to squeeze in a few hrs here and there for his sake. How about you hire a cook for dinner time inorder to save time or request your mom or MIL to spare a few hours to help you out in the evenings. That might help you in managing his revisions to some extent. If he needs extra help with his revisions, probably he needs a tuition teacher in the evenings but don't miss the golden opportunity of revising a little with him. I suggest you try to manage a couple of hrs if not all evening. This will also help you to maintain the bond as any quality time spent with the kid becomes memorable and keeps the communication going. Hope this helps..All the Best.
