Yesterday, I was watching "I am Bolt" biography movie of all time greatest runner Usain Bolt. My daughter was standing next to her and was explaining her about the hard work he has put in to become the world champion. I told her, to become a champion, you have to practice with dedication and do hard work. She immediately said ok, and asked me, dad, "Why don't you also do hard work like him to become a champion? Why do you waste time sitting on the couch and watching TV?" . It was like a knockout punch on my face. Though I felt like explaining her that I cant become a champion runner like bolt, the point she raised made me think what she feels about me. Who best could be the inspiration for the children than their parents? This definitely would need a course correction and I have work towards being an inspiration to my kids. If not inspiration, atleast they should feel "I walk the talk" rather than just talk. Well, this would be my parenting goal for 2018.
