My parents taught me to work hard, earn the things that I want and be connected with nature. They also told me to always have a backup plan to deal with all or any of life’s curve balls. Although I realised my parents were trying to instil the values in me, I never appreciated these teachings back then, because I had to work for everything I wanted, be it a holiday or a material possession. But, now I realise that these lessons have been valuable aides to my success.
I would want to teach my daughter the value of commitment, dedication and hard work. There will always be things that will slow you down, side-track you or even change the course of your journey. You have to learn what you can from them and get right back on track. No matter what, don’t stop!
