Bindya Srikumar (name changed), a class XII student aspiring for the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET), was in for a rude shock when she was barred from entering the examination centre for being late by a few minutes. Was it bad luck? “It was not just bad luck but my utter negligence of not following the rules prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. It was clearly mentioned by the authorities that candidates should reach the exam hall ‘sharp on time’ but I took it lightly. This whole experience has taught me a valuable lesson on how to respect ‘time’. All my efforts for this exam are now wasted and I have to wait for one more year to take the test again,” says a sobbing Bindya.
