@Roopa M Thanks a lot for sharing this, Roopa. Very good idea, indeed!
@Roopa M Thanks for sharing. Indeed nice
@Roopa M This is also a great one. Simple yet effective. Thanks for sharing, Roopa.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 7 SPIRIT:One Core Value that I wish for my family to follow is Happiness. For some, happiness is an easy way out, but for few whose thoughts are hyperactive, happiness destination is difficult way. Every soul has came on this planet to free themselves from suffering. It's a journey where we have to search for our destination. This spirit knows whom to meet, what to do, where to go, how to act and so on. It's a trial and error learning journey.
@Team ParentCircle One core value I would want my family to follow always is -awareness. Awareness of whatever they plan, think, eat, feel, and general awareness about situations and life in general that will always keep them grounded and lead them to be the best they can be.
@Team ParentCircle One core value for my family would be integrity. In word, deed and action always. The only value than can make this world a better place.
Team Parents Circle, thank you so much for this initiative. I missed doing it when you launched the challenge, but plan to do it for the last wek of February. Really looking forward to it.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 7 MIND:It's not easy to discover ourself completely. In that journey, relationships get highly affected. There are numerous challenges, issues that has to be resolved at regular interval. The major issue that bothered our family was generation-gap and wrong thinking. We resolved it by letting go the situation, being resilient, controlling mind and thought after that situation. This I believe is a superpower that can help to live life to the fullest.
@Team ParentCircle One issue that bothers us is, due to work life, studies, and travel, all of us in the family need more time together with each other. So, we plan for all the family members to meet soon and have a big family reunion.
@Team ParentCircle We have a kite flying event on 15th for Sankranthi and we are making some kites at home. This is a fun activity and we are going to fly these in the evening to check them out.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 7 BODY:Today, bachaparty came for task. I explored my creativity. I gave them puzzles first. I divided the task into two rounds. Round 1. Individual: Duration-30 seconds, Task- to search for thy names, to search for numbers 0 to 9 and sequence it. That was from letters and numbers puzzle. Round 2. Group: Given-Puzzles+colourful blocks, Hint- upcoming festival theme. Rules- to share ideas, listen to each other ideas, find out best ideas, act upon it.They came out with excellent creativity where they prepared two floor house with stairs, street light, garage, a boy flying kite, CCTV camera, and many more. I gave them evening work to write this creative model in a piece of paper and will share in our bachaparty smiling group. By this way, we celebrated advance kite-flying festival with fun innovation.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 6 MIND:I am keen fond of the term "Empathy". I am an empathetic individual and I am proud to be an empath. I use to teach this topic in human resource management to my college students. I studied in my college time but at that time I was not aware of the feelings of my emotions and other emotions. However, I knew my strength. I started applying it daily like listening to elders, bachaparty patiently without any interference and judgment. By this Act, I observed that they like to share their stories and trust me in matter of doubts, confusions or problems.
@Team ParentCircle This is a beautiful exercise. It makes us definitely think and be more patient when dealing with the world in general. Thank you team. Im an empathetic person and I tried this exercise by trying to feel the vibes of others, understand what people might be going through during the day and I let things fall into place. I also was vocal about expressing my empathy like showing gratitude and saying I understand what you are going through when somebody was complaining about something. Most of the times people just need to be heard and they want somebody to talk to.Everybody has their own logic and reasoning for the way they are but the world needs empathy more than anything else for all of us to live peacefully. For instance, throwing garbage in somebodys vacant plot, making somebody wait for no reason, corruption and almost all the troubles in the society happen because of lack of empathy. Being sensitive to others needs and feelings and trying to be more understanding of others is an excellent exercise which needs to be practiced everyday by all. Thank you for this challenge.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 6 SPIRIT:This mediation is beneficial if applied everyday as I use to act upon it. I focus on one task at a time and with 100% effort I use to accomplish it. This aids me in proper concentration while ongoing the task. Beforehand, I was perfectionist by thinking to achieve desired result whatsoever. Currently, I am focusing on task no matter the result. I am content with my present choice as this gives awareness and conplete the things consciously by seeing its pros and cons.
@Team ParentCircle Yes, finished simple meditation and focused on the breath. Recently I had joined a group that had taken up a 21 day meditation challenge, which was a very refreshing and amazing experience. Simple meditation practices help a lot in our daily lives by making us more aware of our thoughts, choices, and actions.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 6 BODY:Our body is made up of 60% of Water. There are infinite benefits of drinking more than one litre of Water everyday. Out of which, today as part of challenge I counted out glasses of water. To my surprise, my sub-conscious mind was asking to drink and count glasses of water and I acted accordingly. My little one surprisingly gave a look as I prioritise him first either it maybe to drink or eat. This challenge is amazing especially in winter as we forget in winter to have more fluids. Thank you Team.
@Team ParentCircle Yes, had enough water - about 7-8 glasses throughout the day.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 5 BODY:Yesterday, co-incidentally we prepared Pav-Bhaji as a dinner at our home. Tomato and onion salad was served with it in our dinner. My little one appetite the bowl of salad delightfully. Overall, we tempted our tummy with mouth-watering spicy dish and amazingly healthy version of salad.
@Team ParentCircle The person who works hard for few hrs everyday for me is my maid, who has been with us for three years now and can do things with or without instruction. I praised her and she was so elated that she felt proud of herself.Another good thing about her is that both her children are in college, and unlike her, she wants them to be graduates and have nice jobs that will bring them money, respect and a much better life.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 5: MIND On occasion of International Thank You Day, First, I am grateful to GOD for giving this day to live and work hard towards my goal. Morever, GOD gave me second birth with a miracle, my little one, who revealed me indepth understanding of life by discovering my true self. Second, I am indebted to my parent and my in-laws for their constant support, care, love, guidance. Without them, I couldn't be able to move forward in a creative direction. Third, I appreciate my work towards bachaparty, I praise to bachaparty and their parents who believe in my creativity. Fourth, I honour Team ParentCircle to provide us platform to express our views in unique way and with our efforts we are received lots of encouragement with token of love. Last but not the least, I express my thankfulness to all those who directly or indirectly supported me in my journey called life.
Please pardon us for the delay today. We will be back with a bang tomorrow.
Dear Team,When is today's challenge going to announce?
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 4: SPIRITI stopped myself and asked what I am thinking. I found wonderful answer that as usual I completed my daily chores but usage of my gadget(mobile) from yesterday evening till today is at heights. However, My soul is happy as I utilise this hours in something productive work like online reading about human rights, engaging in organising committee for educational award at NGO.
@Team ParentCircle When I stop and ask myself what Im thinking..I find myself thinking about ordinary things about my kitchen like - I need to make a little list of vegetables and few more grocery items and also to remember to prepare yogurt. So its a very ordinary thought on a normal evening like this.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 4: MINDEnthusiasm: The strong eagerness emotion to feel excited inorder to accept the challenges drawn by Team ParentCircle. In addition to this, strong sensible emotion to read beautiful comments that inspires our mind and soul.
@Team ParentCircle The emotion I feel is enthusiasm. Pongal is almost here, and we are expecting family and guests next week. Also, these kind of challenges bring a new energy into our daily lives. Thank you team.At the same time I also feel calm and peaceful because this evening we had a Sahasranamam chanting session at our neighbours house. It was beautiful and also enjoyed the Prasadam there.
@Team ParentCircle I had papaya and banana:)
@Team ParentCircle Wow, Roopa! Great to see your enthusiasm, really inspiring!
@Team ParentCircle We often hear and read that deep breaths are efficient and they also reduce our stress level, but we forget to breath slow and steady. This was a good exercise to remind ourselves to pause, breathe, and feel energised. Thank you.
@Team ParentCircle I competed this challenge with bachaparty where we did mediation for few minutes and then did yoga poses. We felt energised by doing together. Thank you for several challenges.
@Team ParentCircle You are one of those who spread joy among others and brighten their lives! Keep it up :)
@Team ParentCircle Today is my college friend's birthday. I wished her. We recollected some old memories and talked about how our group used to treat each other at our favourite dosa place. These days we just exchange whatsapp cakes, bouquets and emoticons..so we promised that we should meet soon with the rest of our group members. It's really nice to connect with friends and loved ones. Thank you.
@Team ParentCircle Woo hoo! This challenge is truely amazing as in the midst of busy days, due to challenge I took out special time to call my best school friend. She is lecturer so I took her convinent time in order to talk for longer hours. I finally made a call. We recalled our best days and talked about our current status. Overall, the feeling of talking to our best friend after a long time is wonderful.
@Team ParentCircle Yes, I did some yoga, jogging and cool-down exercises.
@Team ParentCircle This was easy:) I had few nuts and dry fruits for my mid-day snack. Nuts are nutritious and also keep us full. Thank you for todays challenge.
@Team ParentCircle Your little one is giving us fitness goals. What joy!!
@Team ParentCircle Exactly, Roopa. These little snacks are loaded with nutrition, easily available and taste great too. Try doing it daily:)
@Team ParentCircle I sent a sweet little note to my immediate family members and also to close friends. I sent a nice note to a friend who had a stall at a fare, to another friend who organised an event related to osteogenesis imperfecta, and few more, who do so much inspite of their busy schedule. They have been awesome always. I am proud of them and appreciate them for who they are. This is a nice challenge. Thank you.
@Team ParentCircle Congratulations to your family for the Marathon. What a lovely note:)
@Team ParentCircle This is lovely, Roopa. You must have made so many people so happy. Thank you for doing it:)
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 2: SpiritI pat myself for accomplishing my daily tasks with kid and guest who stayed with us for few days. Moreover, I started volunteer work with Human Rights Education Association NGO so I pat myself for managing time with essential work.
@Team ParentCircle I pat myself for completing the tasks:)
@Team ParentCircle So inspiring, Kanisha!
@Team ParentCircle Woohoo! Great Job, Roopa :)
@Team ParentCircle Just went to the temple this morning on foot since it's Vaikunta ekdashi. That was a nice walk, so this challenge done:-)
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 1:A short 10 min walk to grab some sunshine - A walk in winter with sunrise is a heavenly feeling. When sun rises, I communicate with my little one to join hands and close eyes in front of sunrise. He follows it with a gentle smile. That smile gives energy to endure the day with hope, happiness and contentment.
@Team ParentCircle Wow perfect day to start the challenge, indeed! We are glad you tried it. Thank you so much!
@Team ParentCircle What a splendid and tranquil way to start the day. We are sure your little one gets all the energy from this wonderful ritual that you do together :)
@Team ParentCircle During the walk , noticed pet dogs, colourful flowers, coconut trees etc., and heard the bells ringing and birds chirping. So that was my experience while walking today.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 1: MINDAn amazing challenge to attempt. A Nature is the place where our mind gets peaceful without any efforts. We visited Garden where my observation in context to nature are as follows: 1. It reduces our stress level 2. Our energy level raises by observing the surroundings where people are focused on building their strengths and fitness by walking, jogging, playing, doing yoga, exercising, and so on. 3. The time interval spend with nature is worth it because we can get charged up by consuming fresh Air/Oxygen. 4. We can create wonderful group where strangers can convert into family members in long run. So it's essential to pause, take a deep breathe, relax, observe and feel the positive vibes with natural surroundings to soothe our mind, body and soul.
@Team ParentCircle Lovely Description, Roopa! A rare sight indeed :)
@Team ParentCircle Bang on with your observations, Kanisha :) Nature truly is magical!
@Team ParentCircle There was a lot of crowd at the temple.. so got to smile at some little children, and help an elderly person up the stairs. My friend who accompanied me also had a good time and we had a nice darshan.
@Team ParentCircle Challenge Day 1: SpiritI would like to share a real experience on this context. Today, I was washing cloths at my house, suddenly I listened to happy loud laugh. I stood up and what I saw was soothing the soul. A building is under construction from past year, there labourer children were playing pee-ka-boo with huge cardboard boxes. That happiness gave a spark in my spirit. I gave a kind, gentle smile to them. They gave a smile with double happiness. Then, They waved at me and I waved them back. Truely speaking, that's an amazing authentic happiness where money fails to buy.
@Team ParentCircle We thank you for appreciating these little pleasures of life!
@Team ParentCircle Wow Roopa! It must have felt great to do such a thing, especially at a time when all of us lead such hectic lives and hardly have time to take notice of people around us.
@Kanisha Wohoo! What Joy!!!!
This sounds exciting! will look forward to more updates regarding the same.
